The Unknown
How many of you are guilty of wanting to know how a book or movie ends before you go through the tale? Perhaps you peak at the last chapters of a book, choose to watch the previous parts of a film, or ask someone – ok, tell me how it ends. Or the ending is unclear. Are any of these scenarios causing your high blood pressure right now? Sorry. However, no matter the frustration of not knowing how a situation may turn out or not understanding the outcome, life continues. Two decades ago, I chose to either continue my career path as a graphic designer /animator or become a pastor of children and families. Personal circumstances and world events, I believe, brought me to this critical point in my life.
If you want a remarkable example of the accomplishment of God's will amongst political conspiracy and relational turmoil, read the book of Esther. This tale reminds us that God works and orchestrates His people no matter what evil we face. Mordecai warns Esther, don't be caught on the sidelines missing an opportunity to fulfill God's perfect purpose – "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this (Esther 4:1, ESV)"? Learn from Esther's amazing courage – do what you must, even if you don't know what will happen.
