A Plan
Many of us agree that having a plan is an excellent approach to accomplishing a goal. Do you agree? Good, we can move on. In Psalms, God declares His plan for families – “He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments” (Psalms 78:5-7, ESV).
Regarding our Family Ministry, I hope you can see that we have a spiritual plan for your family. Beginning with you, the parent, we have the first, I like to call spiritual milestone – our Parent and Child Dedication. We have an upcoming class on October 9th. It is the first step for parents in partnering with their church community to help their child grow in the Lord and learn to love others. The following two milestones would be Salvation and Baptism – when your child has given their life to Jesus and, in obedience, is ready to enter the baptismal waters. Then it is waiting for the next milestone – high school graduation. We call this milestone Senior Sunday Celebration, an event we offer yearly at our church. There are other spiritual milestones, but for now, think about these three and let us know how we can partner with you, the spiritual leader of your home.
